Mikala Georgia Grante

Graphic design (Grey Moth/Luca Productions - upcoming feature film)

Flyers, posters, beer mats

Design and production of risograph-printed flyers and posters, as well as beer mats, for an upcoming feature music documentary from LUCA (directors Posy Dixon and Liv Proctor) alongside Grey Moth Productions.

Graphic design (Mind’s Eye Productions - Toyotathon)

Packaging, logos and graphics, signage, photography

Design and pre-press for two locations on a Toyota advert, including signage, logos and decals for a coffee cart, as well as labels for water bottles. I also sourced and edited photos to create aged headshots for a barber shop.

On-Screen Television Graphic Design (CWU and Grey Moth)

Graphic design for physical and digital graphics, motion graphics

For the second year running, I designed website graphics for the 2021 CWU (Communication Workers’ Union) Christmas ad. I also helped commission an illustrator to render a superhero that was used in the advertisement.

Previously, I also created a fake tabloid newspaper for use on-screen in the 2020 CWU Christmas advertisement. I designed several on-screen motion graphics, including a zoom call and a ringing phone animation. This ad received over 680,000 views and everyone involved was very proud of this project.

TOPS

Film credits / title design, poster design, graphics

Poster, title sequence, and graphics for TOPS, a genre-busting documentary (with fictionalised elements) by Ames Pennington, inspired by the chaotic, brash, self-deprecating and clueless style of 1990s/2000s British TV. It explores the question that defines transmasc experience in the UK today: “What top did you wanna wear after top surgery?” The film was produced by my client Grey Moth and has played at GAZE (Dublin), NewFest (NYC), and aGLIFF (Austin), as well as several other  festivals across the UK and internationally.

I also made several graphic sequences in the style of mid-2000s The Shopping Network adverts:

Blue Violet

Film credits / title design, poster design

Posters and title design I made for Blue Violet, a short by Josie Charles written by and starring Esme Lucas – which has screened at international film festivals including BFI Flare, SXSW London 2025, and Hollyshorts Film Festival. I worked with the director, producer and writer to understand their project and reflect the nature of this horror short. I chose a typeface, colour and treatment that would give the film a retro-inspired, uneasy “I’m watching you” feeling to inspire audiences and spark interest.

Guilt Trip – Roadrunner Records

Title design for music video

I designed titles for Guilt Trip‘s God Forgives, a music video in two parts. Directed by Luigi Sibona for Hollow Films, in association with Roadrunner Records.

Mae Stephens – Wendyvision Productions

Title design for music video

I designed titles for a music video directed by Willow Hazell and Wendyvision Productions, for Mae Stephens.

O, GLORY – Grey Moth Productions

Title design for short narrative film

I designed titles for a short narrative film directed by Joe Williams and Charlie Edwards-Moss. The film was produced by Grey Moth with support from the BFI.
The director’s references were 70s folk horror films; it was my first time designing to sound and I had a great experience making these titles.

After the film started getting traction on the festival circuit, I also created the poster.
